FAQs - British Cleaning ServicesFAQs

Why British Cleaning services?
Why not use British Cleaning Services? With a high reputation and an increasing demand for contracts and bookings, we believe we are the best when it comes to customer care. All our cleaners are qualified and have full knowledge about cleaning and materials within the household. With our excellent reputation we can assure you that our clients will be satisfied and will be happy to meet our technicians on a regular basis.

How long will my carpet/furniture take to dry?
All materials are different, especially when it comes to carpets and soft finishing’s. So to give an exact time is not possible. The time to dry highly depends on the following conditions:

• Humidity in environment
• Passable ventilation
• The scale at which soil was contained within the carpet or fabric
• Moisture the material captures

Depending upon the material, there is a minimum four hour duration for materials to be dry. If the best condition is provided the drying time is reduced considerably.

Do you use chemicals to clean?
All cleaning systems use some sort of chemical. Our machines mainly operate with the force of water that causes steam. A good well experienced technician uses products that are environmentally safe. The chemicals that we use are those which have been tested and approved to be used around children, pets, people who suffer allergies and asthma. We make sure that the machine extracts all the chemicals leaving no residue behind within the fabrics/materials.

Does the room have to be clear?
Yes, we advice that items that are fragile are removed both inside a cabinet and out before the technician arrives. Other furniture such as waste paper bins, stools, small tables, etc. are advised to be removed as this would be beneficial to the technician. If the technician is cleaning sofas it would be advised to move the item so that it can be cleaned, then of course put back in its original setting.

Can I walk on the carpet as soon as it has been cleaned?
Yes this can be done, however we recommend that sufficient time is given for the carpet to be dry. This is to ensure that small marks are not transferred from dirty shoes or feet on the wet carpet.

How often shall I clean my carpet (residential)?
This really depends on the activity within the home. As recommended by carpet manufactures, every 12 months, however we believe that busy houses require a regular clean allowing a fresh and healthy environment to breathe in, both for yourself, your children and your pets.

How often shall we have the carpet cleaned (commercial)?
It is highly recommended that you get your carpets and upholstery cleaned every 3-6 months. This will ensure a clean and healthy environment. We are able to assist in preparing a maintenance programme for you so that you can work in a clean environment all year round.

Can I obtain an accurate quote for carpet cleaning over the phone?
No, only estimation can be given over the phone based on what you have provided. All fabrics and materials are different and the condition of the carpet is too different. In order for us to provide you an accurate quote, our technicians are required to view your property carpet first, though this is of course free of charge.

Does fabric protector really work when applied on the carpet and when is the best time to applied?
Yes, fabric protector actually protects the carpet without losing its colour. This is to be applied straight after the steam cleaning that we provide. A qualified technician does this for you and will advise you of the correct usage on different carpets and upholsteries.

Do I have the same cleaner each time?
Yes you do. At British cleaning service we assign technicians for different locations to maintain a high level of consistently. Our experience has proven this is the best method. We like to have a two way communication between you and the cleaner this way the cleaner gets to know your property and what area requires more attention.

How do I pay?
We accept payment by cheque and cash only.
